"Oracle Corp. just released a new version of their Database product, Oracle 11gR2 (02/09/2009) and one New Zealand company has already successfully implemented this new technology, namely NZBUS (a leader in NZ public transportation) is proud to become the first company in New Zealand and one of the first in the APAC region to start using this new technology in a production environment.

NZBUS, in a partnership with Database Integrated Solutions, were the only New Zealand companies to participate in the beta program of this product, and due to a close relationship with Oracle, they where first to discoverer the key benefits that this new release can bring to an organization.

Altmaar Visser, NZBUS IT Manager who just moved to NZ from Bahrain, brought to NZ extensive ICT experience and ideas he previously used as the CIO of BMI Bank of Bahrain where he was responsible for the biggest Oracle Enterprise implementation in the Middle East Region’s Banking and Finance sector to date. Here in NZ he rapidly started to implement a big change at NZBUS with a visionary and regionally unique ICT stabilization and centralization plan (Desktop, WAN/LAN, Server and Applications), working hard to create one version of the truth and to improve all IT implementations from Whangarei to Wellington.

Francisco Munoz Alvarez, Database Integrated Solutions CEO and only New Zealand Oracle ACE Director, mentioned that NZBUS was a great scenario and experience to show how easily an Oracle implementation can be when real professionals are involved.

NZBUS, in a technical partnership with Dell, Database Integrated Solutions, and Oracle, has standardised their IT environment with Oracle products; using Oracle Enterprise Linux on the OS level, Oracle Enterprise Edition on the DB level, APEX on Development level, Data Guard for High Availability, Active Failover, and Grid Control to achieve a proactive and efficient management and monitoring system."
